I know there is a #$?! ton of fitness and health blogs out there but I wanted to start one because I love to burn up my heart, lungs, and muscles and felt that by doing so I could maybe inspire a few friends to find joy in committing themselves to "me time" during each week. I find that it helps me be present and we all need that.
Couple fitness with your favorite music, mine is heavy metal, and you have the recipe for some stress relieve and, in my case, some anger management. My wife sometimes tells me to go to the gym when my mind is not right. She has not told me in awhile because I go 6 days a week and so my maintenance is good.
Since technology has started taking over the world people have stopped doing the manual labor that kept most people in pretty good shape in the past. Now we have to invent ways to labor. Otherwise we get lazy, sluggish, and skinny fat or fat fat, and this creates a whole multitude of problems. Combine that with the quality of food we eat and we are down right unhealthy.
I read a statistic recently from a renowned doctor Tony O'Donnell www.radiantgreens.com that America is the heaviest medicated country on the earth but we are one of the sickest. I believe that most of our health problems can be solved by two things: being active and consuming proper nutrition.
Quote of the day:
Past Secretary General of the United Nations Dag Hammerskjold said, "It is more noble to give yourself completely to one individual than to labor diligently for the salvation of the masses."
Workout of the day:
Go on a walk and breath deep.
